President’s Message

2022 President Danicia Honda

Danicia Honda, 2022 HCJ President

I am extremely honored and humbled to be elected to serve as the 2022 President of the GREAT Honolulu Chinese Jaycees. As a former Miss Chinese Jaycees, I joined the Honolulu Chinese Jaycees as a member of the Miss Chinatown Organization, and through its generous scholarships decided to return as a member of the Board of Directors. Now, I find myself reflecting on the legacies of my predecessors and thinking: “can I really do this?” Luckily, I have a very strong and capable Board of Directors who bring with them a wealth of experience and overflowing energy. With them, I am confident that we can face 2022 with a newfound excitement for what is to come.

Mahalo nui to our current and past members and Board of Directors for their tremendous support and dedication to the HCJ. As a volunteer-based organization, the contributions of our members have and continue to be the driving force behind the HCJ. Under the leadership of 2021 President Scott Kaneshiro, our chapter found creative solutions to balance a safe yet fun calendar of events.

Thank you also to our community partners for your continued generosity and support. The HCJ is dedicated to giving back to our community and providing personal and professional development opportunities to young professionals. Without you, our contributions to our community would not be nearly as impactful.

I also look forward to creating safe and productive environments for our members to reconnect. Although last year presented many challenges due to the ongoing pandemic, I look forward to organizing more meaningful and impactful events that benefit our members and our community.
