President’s Message

Aloha mai kākou,

大家好,

I am honored to be your 2025 Honolulu Chinese Jaycees President. It is a privilege to be leading such a renowned organization and I cannot wait to meet everyone at our general membership meetings, social gatherings, community engagement events,  professional development opportunities, cultural activities, and more! This year, my vision is to plan engaging and valuable events for our members and community to participate and network in.  Hopefully, these events will inspire and encourage you to engage in our community, learn about the Chinese culture, and consider becoming a Jaycee member!

The year of the wood snake is a rare combination that signifies transformation and growth. It is a time for us to reflect on our goals, plan for success and embrace personal development. This year will be meaningful to me as I continue serving as the 2024 Miss Chinatown Hawaii Queen and as the 2025 Honolulu Chinese Jaycees President. I look forward to bringing both organizations closer and forming lasting relationships with our local communities. As I take on this exciting role, join me as we reignite the Dragon and set forth on an inspiring journey!

2025 President Sarah Liu

2025 Board of Directors

The HCJ Board of Directors consists of officers elected by the general members and given the authority to make decisions on behalf of the membership. The Board leads and provides day-to-day oversight of the organization, and vote on plans of action, budgets, projects, and other activities. The Board bases its decisions on documentation and other forms of support that have been approved by the membership, as well as the JCI Mission and general capacity of the organization. The Board ensures all activities are aligned with the JCI Mission and are in the best interests of the organization. Being elected to the Board is both an honor and a responsibility. The Board represents its members and the interests of the organization in every decision. The Board must understand its fellow members’ motivations and needs and earn their respect. Look to these individuals as the role models of HCJ members so thus embodying the JCI Mission!
